It has been more than a month since my birthday and as a gift, Steffi was offering to buy me my own domain but it is all up to me to come up with which name to use. Up to now, I still have not thought about a good name. How do you choose the right name for a blog? I have a couple of names in mind but I am not sure yet because I might regret it for I'll get stuck with that domain name forever.
Taking my time, I am reading some article about How to choose a great domain name at articlecity.info in the hope of making a good decision. With it comes thoughts on what to write about in this new blog. As much as possible, I would want this new blog to be something that would really define the real me. I was actually thinking about using my name instead so that it would really be "my blog", my own personal space in the internet but I have qualms using my name. In fact, I have been vocal about how I dislike the name given to me by my parents.*sigh*
The article was informative. I did not know that one website could actually have many domain names too but it can be costly. Choosing a domain name is also vital in strategy making in an online business and that it is always important to bear in mind that when choosing a domain name that is aimed at flourishing a web business, it must be something that is easy for web searchers to find, help market one's product or service and should be free of legal conflicts with other trademarks. But since I am not planning to put up an online business, I guess I am not constrained to follow these rules.
Well, I just hope that Stef's offer does not have an expiration date. I'd better think fast or she might change her mind. I am not sure if she will be able to read this but I am really hoping that that the offer still stands. Thank God I have a generous friend like Stef, I am surely missing her company.
