Influenza A(H1N1) Essentials

I was very worried about my little sister catching flu during weekend knowing that the A(H1N1) virus has been spreading all over Metro Manila quickly.  She immediately submitted herself for a throat swab test to see if she has contacted the H1N1 virus.  Unfortunately, the result would come out in four to five days.  I was already worried that I was thinking of flying to Manila because there was nobody to look after my sister.  For three days, she's been having an on and off fever, cough and colds.  Thankfully, she was getting better when I last checked on her.

Even before this happened, I was constantly reminding her to take all the necessary precautions.  It is always better to be safe than sorry and worst, dead!  So, I always take it upon myself to have the essentials to combat the virus.  Here's what I think would be helpful to keep one's self safe from the H1N1 virus.

  • Alcohol
  • Frequent handwashing
  • Taking vitamins regularly
  • Drinking at least eight glasses of water
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Covering one's mouth when sneezing
  • Exercise
The mere thought of getting the virus is simply terrifying especially when news got out that there has already been a recorded death among those who got the virus. Scary! so let's strive not to be part of the statistics of H1N1 casualties because in this way, we can help contribute to our country's welfare.  Imagine our tourism industry has already suffered enough beating because the Philippines has the second highest number of H1N1 cases in SoutheastAsia. Sad, isn't it?
